It is no longer necessary to include such information as was once considered standard, such as driving licence, date of birth, marital status and even gender. This is due to the potential for companies to fall foul of discriminatory legislation. Likewise, it is not necessary to include a photograph, as this would suggest that a decision would be made for or against you based on how you look. Exceptions to this rule would be jobs in theatre, acting and modelling.

Any working individual would benefit from keeping at least a generic CV up to date, so they do not miss out on any opportunities that may arise unexpectedly.
